Jane Ellen Hendrix, 74, of New Florence, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at St. Andrew’s in New Florence.

Jane was born in Mexico (Audrain County) on April 9, 1950. She was the daughter of Harlen Harold Hendrix and Faye Louise (Vaughn) Hendrix.

After high school, Jane continued her education at Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg for five years. Jane lived a vibrant life, balancing work, education and personal interests with a positive spirit. She had diverse career experiences in retail, as a waitress and as a substitute teacher, giving her a versatile skill set. Her hobbies—coloring, crafts and cross-stitching—reflected her creative and nurturing side. Her sense of humor was a cherished trait among her friends and family. Even through sadness she was able to bring a smile to the faces of those around her. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Presbyterian Church in Montgomery City.

Jane is survived by two brothers: Paul Hendrix and Bruce Hendrix and his family. She is also survived by her many cherished friends at St. Andrews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harlen Harold and Faye Louise Hendrix.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Sept. 4 at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Montgomery City, with Reverend Lynn Quist officiating.
