Diane Hearst

Helen "Diane" Ludy Hearst, born on July 6, 1934, in Jonesburg, to Joseph and Carmen Zeller, passed away peacefully at her home on July 10, 2024, at the age of 90. Diane lived a full and loving life, deeply committed to her family and her faith.

Diane married James Crawford Ludy on February 20, 1954. Together, they raised five children in rural Jonesburg. After James' passing, Diane found love again and married William E. Hearst in 1986.

Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Carmen Zeller, her siblings Kenny and Donna, and her beloved husbands Jim and Bill.

She leaves behind a large and loving family, including her children, Charlie (Barb) Ludy of Jefferson City, Mark (Pam) Ludy of Jonesburg, Andy (Debbie) Ludy of Bellflower, Tom (Fran) Ludy of Jonesburg and Cathy (Adam) Scherer of Raleigh, N.C. Diane was blessed with numerous grandchildren, Trevor, Kelsey (Terry) and Kyle (Mallory); Angie (Chad), Josh (Trish), and Emilee (Shane); Amanda (Jake) and Travis (Teresa); Kailynn (Brian), Jimmy and Bubba (Patty); and Craig (Melissa), Don (Jessica) and Sydney (Erik). Her great-grandchildren include Xavier, Cooper, Anne Marie, Zadie, Jacob (Ellie), Hayden (Anna), Gillian, Winter, Michael, Rylee, Brenna, Kai, Joseph, Liam, Dawson, Evan, Jaden, Keilynn, Jozie, Brody, Wesley, Brandon, Urich, Ingrid and Henry. Diane also welcomed one great-great-grandchild, George, into the family. She is survived by her sister, Toodie (Glenn) Wright of Jonesburg.

Diane was a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, a cherished "Grandma D" to everyone who knew her and a faithful believer in the Lord. Her unwavering love, kindness and faith will be remembered and cherished by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

Visitation is scheduled from 3 p.m.-7 p.m. on July 12 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jonesburg. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. on July 13 at the church. Burial will be at the Jonesburg City Cemetery. 

The family is served by the Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton.
