The Montgomery County track team celebrated a successful 2024 season that included five all-state medalists, four school records broken and another Eastern Missouri Conference title in the girls division.

Seniors Jacer Brower, El Reagan and Weston Marshall, junior Tyler Erwin and freshman Samantha Turner earned all-state honors for the Wildcats, extending the team’s streak to 12 years in a row that it had at least one athlete on the awards podium. MCHS had five athletes competing in the Class 3 state meet and all five of them left Jefferson City with medals.

Erwin received two all-state medals, finishing second in the long jump and third in the triple jump. He broke his own school records in both events. He also finished with nine victories in the jumping events, including three in the season-opening Montgomery County Early Invite.

Reagan finished seventh in the pole vault at state, earning her all-state recognition in the event for the fourth time. She finished with a career-high 10 victories in the pole vault, including one in the district meet, where she finished with a 10-9.5, breaking her own school record.

Marshall finished with eight wins in the javelin. He finished second in the event at the state meet with a school-record 181 feet, 8 inches. It was his first all-state medal.

Brower earned his third all-state medal after placing seventh in the 400. He won his first EMO championship in the event in May.

Turner wrapped up a banner freshman season in the throwing events by finishing seventh in the shot put. She won the EMO and district championships in the event.

Seniors Connor Finke and Malia Rodgers and freshmen Kaylee Daume and Austyn Robinson were among the other contributors for the Wildcats.

Finke captured EMO titles in both shot put and discus and qualified for sectionals in both events. Rodgers won conference championships in the 1,600 and 3,200 and clinched sectional berths in both events. Daume and Robinson qualified for sectionals in the shot put and 400, respectively.
The MCHS girls won the EMO meet with 122.5 points to capture their fifth conference crown in six years. They had four first-place finishes.

The Wildcats had eight seniors. The other seniors included Morgan Koch, James Pollard and Landon Massey. Reagan, Rodgers, Finke, Massey and Brower competed with the track program all four years.

Other members on the girls team included juniors Maddie West, Brenna Ludy and Karla Gonzalez, sophomores Josy Eversmeyer, Katlyn Kolling and Jada Kroner and freshmen Olivia Spurgeon, Aubrey Janes, Anna Klekamp, Sarah Waters, Dakota Marion, Addison Brower and Jillian Weekley.

Other members on the boys team included juniors Jadrian Thurmon, Beckham Cothren and Brendan Craven and sophomores Kendrick Lewis, Cooper Sellenriek and Triston Smith and freshmen Lafe McCurdy, Dallas Hans, Owen See, Atlas Bartlett, Jacob Roesner, Reed Pottebaum and Noah Lacy.
