The Battle of the Chapters was held on July 19 at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds Youth Arena. Five Montgomery County-area 4-H chapters – Bellflower Boosters, Big Spring Busy Beavers, Coon Creek Cronies, Kountry Kids and Middletown Meddlers – and FFA chapters from Montgomery County and Hermann high schools competed in the contest. The Bellflower Boosters won the 4-H championship, while Hermann came out on top in the FFA division after beating Montgomery County in a winner-take-all two-legged race. Theo Tate photos
