For the first time in five years, the Class 3 district baseball tournament is back at Montgomery County High School.

The Wildcats are hosting the five-team, Class 3, District 6 baseball tournament that will start on May 10 and end on May 14. All games will be played at the MCHS baseball field.

MCHS received the No. 2 seed and will play third-seeded Elsberry at 3 p.m. on May 11 in a semifinal game. The Wildcats are looking to win their first district championship since 2019, when they went on to place fourth in the Class 3 state tournament.

Hermann received the top seed and will play either Bowling Green or Mark Twain at noon on May 11 in a semifinal game. Bowling Green, the No. 4 seed, and Mark Twain, the No. 5 seed, will square off in a quarterfinal game at 5:30 p.m. on May 10.

The championship game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on May 14.

The Wildcats took an 11-7 record into their road game against Van-Far on May 7. They will play home games against Wright City and New Haven on May 9 and a road game against Centralia on May 9.

MCHS is 3-0 against its district tournament opponents this season. The Wildcats beat Elsberry 11-1 on May 1, Bowling Green 8-6 on April 9 and Mark Twain 22-2 on March 28. They were scheduled to play Hermann in a home game on April 29, but was canceled due to weather.

Last year, MCHS lost to Hermann 7-0 in a Class 3, District 7 tournament semifinal game at South Callaway.
