Uncle Ray's to break ground on new production facility in Montgomery City

 The Greater Montgomery County Economic Development Council (GMCEDC) is pleased to announce Uncle Ray’s LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of H.T. Hackney Co. and leading producer of potato chips and snacks, will break ground on a $30 million, 94,000-square-foot production facility at 1001 Harness Drive in Montgomery City .

A ceremony is scheduled to be held Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 11 a.m.

The Detroit-based company purchased the refrigerated warehouse previously owned by Tyson Foods in 2013.The company plans to renovate the building for receiving raw potatoes and producing and shipping finished products and goods. The previously announced project is scheduled to be complete with production starting in November 2020. Once the facility is fully operational, it will employ 44 full-time employees.

“We are excited to be breaking ground on our new facility and are looking forward to building a strong and lasting partnership with the town of Montgomery City.” said General Manager Joe Dilly.  “We have big plans for this new facility and personally I know my team and I are excited to see how quickly we can grow with the support of the local community.”

The GMCEDC along with its partners including the Missouri Department of Economic Development began working with Uncle Ray’s in 2013 while the company was evaluating multiple states for the new facility.
