Two runners medal at Fulton
Nine members of the Montgomery County boys and girls cross country teams competed in the Fulton Invitational  Saturday, Sept. 21. The meet was held at Fulton High School.
 
Both teams will compete in the Gans Creek Classic Meet in Columbia this Saturday, Sept. 28.  Runners from over 100 schools are scheduled to compete in both the girls and boys races. The meet is to be held at the Gans Creek Recreation Area, which will also be the site of this year’s state finals in November. 
 
Girls results
 
Freshman Lyric Ford was the only Lady Wildcat who competed in the varsity meet. She had a solid performance, as she finished in 13th place (105 runners). Her time for the race was 22:47.17. Jozelynn Bostick, from Centralia, won the race with a time of 20:55.11.
 
Eight Lady Wildcats ran in the junior varsity meet, and they finished first in the JV team competition (5 teams). Destiny Shaw did the best of the Lady Wildcats, as she finished in 4th place (48 runners) with a time of 25:19.60. The other Lady Wildcat runners in the JV race, their times and final place were as follows: 
Sara Scheid (7th, 26:05.94), Anna Shaw (10th, 26:36:19), Carie Schroer (12th, 26:43.84); Renee Finke (13th,  26:57.18), Ann Schroer (30th, 30:33.82), Josi Holtzclaw (38th, 38:02.92; and Sylvia Miller (43rd, 35:35.66). 
 
Boys results
 
Connor Galarza, Dawson McCown and Isaac Hartman ran for Montgomery County in the varsity race. Connor had the best performance for the Wildcats, as he finished in 17th place (133 runners) with a time of 18:47.53.  Dawson wasn’t that far behind Connor, as he finished in 24th place with a time of 18:57.30.  Isaac finished in 87th place with a time of 21:43.10.  
 
Jack Crull, from Helias Catholic (Jefferson City), won the race with a time 16:30.44.
 
Logan Camp, Zachary Schierhoff and Tyler Finke ran for the Wildcats in the junior varsity race. Logan finished in 45th place (76 runners) with a time of 24:20.59. Zachary finished in 56th with a time of 25:25.45, and Tyler finished in 66th with a time of 28:06.39.
