Stolen hunting equipment found in possession of Jonesburg man

A criminal charge has been filed against a Jonesburg man who allegedly was in possession of stolen property.

Michael Lee Harlan, of the 200 block of First St., is charged with one felony count of receiving stolen property.

A Jonesburg city employee told police that Harlan was in possession of what appeared to be stolen property on Sept. 17. When the officer responded, he located an outdoor camp oven and two portable heaters. Pictures were taken and shown to the owner who positively identified the items as his, according to the probable cause statement. The items had been stolen from a deer stand, police said, and had a combined value of over $500.
